Jamaat-i-Islami, Brief History in Punjab

After the emergence of Pakistan in 1947, the State of Pakistan has been divided into two separate entities administratively i.e. East Pakistan with its Capital in Dhaka and West Pakistan with Karachi as its hub. Unfortunately Pakistan disintegrated into two independent states after a great political and military turmoil. In 1971Yahya Khan ,then President of Pakistan has taken the decision eventually to convert the remaining state into four new provinces which were Punjab, Sindh , NWFP and Baluchistan .At that time Jamaat-i-Islami followed the new administrative pattern.
